I was very lazy in last time and I still am, this site is opened since more than one year but it still doesn't look that well. Well Josie,. A good place to start to find information on a career in graphic design would be the website for AIGA--the American Institute for Graphic Arts. I should warn you that generally graphic artists are not well paid, although those who work in advertising or multi-media design earn more than those in editorial work.. I work primarily in book design, which means that I work all day at a computer trying to make sense of other people's words. Basically a book designer serves as a visual translator of an author's work to help the average reader understand the author's tone and message. Some authors write less clearly than others, so some books can be a real challenge.. Good luck. Twelve is a little young to worrying about what you want to be as an adult. And take your time growing up; some people grow old way too fast.
